Volunteer to make a difference

Do you have a few hours per week to spare? Join our team of volunteers on the frontline.

Shop volunteers play a crucial part in the makeup of our organisation and without volunteers we would not be able to run our shops.

People are always amazed by how much work goes on behind the scenes of a charity shop. If you are interested in fashion you can help us prepare the clothing and accessories that we receive. If you love books and have a general knowledge of books and are able to alphabetise them then maybe you want to be in one of the bookshops. If you have a good eye that could lead to a rare find, perhaps your knowledge and enthusiasm could be used to make sure that treasures don’t go unnoticed.

If you prefer interacting with people then maybe working ‘front of house’ will suit you better. You will be at the heart of the action, advising customers, maintain the shop floor and working the till helping us ring up a better future for rural children.

Volunteering at Help The Rural Child will not take up a lot of your time. One shift of four hours per week is what most volunteers contribute. However, flexibility is very important and if you’d like to offer more or less time, this can be arranged.

We won’t throw you in the deep end! We’ll train you and be alongside you to make your stay with us a happy and meaningful one.
